A bus cover 30 km in 40 minute and remaining 40 km in 50 minute.
i)find its first stage of speed .

so speed = x

then speed = distance / time

                    = 30 / 40 mins

                     = 0.75 km per min ( or 750 meter per min)

2) second stage speed = y

lets assume it as y

so speed = y

then speed = distance / time

                    = 40 / 50 mins

                     = 0.8 km per min ( or 800 meter per min)

3) speed of entire journey = z

total distance = 30 + 40 km = 70 km

total time = 40 + 50 = 90 min or 1 hour 30 mins so 1.5

speed = distance / time

           = 70 km / 1.5 hour

           = 46.6 km per hour
