Time taken by bus to stop = 2.5 sec  if it was running at 72 km/hr and stopped after 25 m on applying brake

Explanation:

bus is moving with a velocity of 72km/h

=> bus Velocity = 72 * 1000 / 3600  m/s   = 20 m/s

initial Velocity = 20 m/s

Final Velocity = 0 m/s  at it stopped

Distance covered = 25 m

Using Formula

V² - U² = 2aS

=> 0 - 20² = 2a(25)

=> a  = - 8 m/s²

now using

V = U + at

=> 0  = 20  + (-8)t

=> t = 20/8  sec

=> t = 2.5 Sec

Time taken by bus to stop = 2.5 sec
