Answer:

Let the quantity sold at 8% profit =Q

Then the quantity sold at 12% profit ==1600 - Q

0.08Q + 0.12[1600 - Q] ==0.11 x 1,600

0.08Q + 192 - 0.12Q ==176

-0.04Q ==176 - 192 ==- 16

Q == - 16 / -0.04 ==400 kg - sold at 8% profit

1,600 - 400 ==1,200 kg - sold at 12% profit.

Answer:

You need cost, but, let us sssume cost is Rs.1 such that the number of Quantity n Cost are same.

Eq1: x+y=1600 (Qty sold at 8%+at 12%)

Eq2: 0.08x+0.12y=1600*0.11=176 (target profit)

Eq3: 0.08x+0.08y=128 (multiply Eq1 by 0.08)

0.04y=48 (subtract Eq3 from Eq2)

y=1200 (qty sold at 12%)
