B can do work in 1 day = 1/8

A and B cand do work in 1 day = 1/6+1/8

= 4/24+3/24

= 7/24

A and B can do work in 2 days = 7/24*2 = 7/12

Remaining work = 1-7/12 = 5/12

Time taken to do remaining work = 5/12*6 = 5/2
