Answer:

The ratio of the object's size to that of magnification produced by the mirror is 5.72:6.5.

Explanation:

Given:
Distance between the candle and mirror(u)=12cm

Height of the candle(h)=6.5cm

Radius of curvature(R)=30cm

To find:

The ratio of the size of the object to that of magnification produced by the mirror=?

Solution:
f=\frac{R}{2}

∴f=15cm

We know that,

The mirror formula is given by,

-\frac{1}{u}+\frac{1}{v}=\frac{1}{f}

∴1/v=1/12+1/15

\frac{1}{v}  =\frac{15+12}{15*12}

∴v=10.588cm

The magnification is

m=-\frac{v}{u}

m= -0.88

m=\frac{h^{1} }{h}

∴h¹ =0.88*6.5=5.72

Therefore, the ratio of the size of the object to that of magnification produced by the mirror is 5.72:6.5.
