A car and a truck moving with the same speed in opposite direction collide and the collision lasts for 2 Seconds.
1) Which vehicle experiences greater force of impact?
2) Which vehicle has the smaller change in momentum?
3) Which one undergoes greater acceleration?
4) Which one is pushed further?

1) the greater force will be experienced by the car because if the mass is greater than the force will be also greater and as the truck has the greater mass as compared to the car so the force exerted by the truck is greater than the car so the car will experienced the greater force of impact.
2) the truck will have the smaller change in momentum as the momentum is equal to mass multiplied by velocity and if the velocity is same then The mass is varied and as the truck has greater mass so that will have the lesser momentum so the truck will experience smallest change in momentum.
3)the car will go in greater acceleration because it has small mass.
4)the car will pushed further because the mass of car is too mass as compared to truck

Answer:

(1) On collision, both the car and the truck experience the same force as action and reaction are equal.

(2) Again, both the vehicles experience the same change in momentum, because

force =change in momentum÷time of collision

(3) As acceleration =force÷mass

and mass of car is less than the mass of truck, therefore, acceleration of car is more than the acceleration of the truck.

(4) Car is pushed farther than the truck, because car is lighter than truck.
