16.1 km/litre

Answer:

If car uses 4.5 litres of diesel for 72.45km

than if car uses 1litre of diesel for 72.45÷4.5

=72.45÷4.5

=16.1 km /litre

Hence 16.1 km is the average distance covered per litre of the diesel.

If you don't understand let understand in short form .

4.5litres uses for 72.45km that means , 72.45km = 4.5 litre is used

how much distance used for 1 litre therefore ,

4.5 litre is used for =72.45kmso,

1 litre is used for = (?)

therefore

72.45km÷4.5 litre

=16.1 km/litre
