SOLUTION:
Given:
Diameter of the wheel = 80 cm
Speed of the car = 66 km/h
Radius of the car wheel = diameter/2 = 80/2= 40cm.
Distance covered by the car in one complete revolution = circumference of wheel = 2πr
= (22/7) × 40 cm.
Distance covered by the car in 1 hour (60 min) = 66 km
Distance covered by the car in 10 minute= (66/60) × 10 = 66/6= 11 km
= 11 km = 11 × 1000m
[ 1 km = 1000m ]
= 11000 m = 11000 × 100 cm
[ 1 m = 100 cm]
Number the revolutions made by the wheel in 10 minute= distance covered by the car in 10 minute / distance covered by the car in one complete revolution
= (1100000 × 7) / (2× 22 × 40)
= 4375
Hence, each wheel makes 4375 Revolutions in 10 minute.
