AnswEr :

▣ Distance = Speed × Time

Speed of Car :

⇒ Distance = Speed × Time

⇒ 180 km = Speed × 3 hr

⇒ 180 km / 3 hr = Speed

Speed of Car = 6 km/hr

Speed of Train :

⇒ Distance = Speed × Time

⇒ 320 km = Speed × 4 hr

⇒ 320 km / 4 hr = Speed

Speed of Train = 8 km/hr

Ratio of Speed of Car and Train

⇒ Speed of Car : Speed of Train

⇒ 6 km/hr : 8 km/hr

  • Dividing Each term 2 km/hr

3 : 4

Ratio of Speed of Car and Train is 3 : 4

Given:

  1. 180km(distance) travelled by a car in 3hours
  2. 320km(distance) travelled by a bus in 4hours

To find:

Ratio of their speeds

\huge{\mathcal{\blue{Answer}}}

✔First the speed of the car:

\large{speed=distance/time}

\large{speed=180km/3hours}

\large{speed=60km/hour.....(1)}

✔Speed of the bus:

\large{speed=distance/time}

\large{speed=320km/4hour}

\large{speed=80km/hour.....(2)}

✔Now Dividing (1) and (2) :

\large{60km/h/80km/h}

Ratio of speed of car and train is

3:4
