Color codes:

Black - 0
Brown - 1
Red - 2

Orange -3
Yellow - 4
Green - 5
Blue - 6
Violet - 7
Grey - 8
White - 9

Tolerance:

Silver - 10%
Gold - 5%
None - 20%

A carbon resistor is marked in colored bands of red, black, orange and silver.

Red, black, orange indicates 2, 0, 3 zeros

So, the value of the resistance is 20,000 Ω with 10% tolerance.

●First two colors give first two digits. so,

Red :  2

Black:  0

●Third color gives the multiplier,

Orange: 103

●fourth color gives the percent tolerance'

Silver:  ±10%

=> combining the above data:  20x103 ± 10% Ω
