A certain volume of gas is kept at 77°c . When the temperature is decreased by 20° c the gas occupies a volume of 900 ml . What was the initial volume of the gas .
( Pressure is constant)

Given

Initial temperature (T1) =77°c

Changing it in Kelvin =273.15+77=350.15 k

Final temperature (T2) = 20°c

Changing it in Kelvin =20+273.15=293.15

Final volume (V2) =900ml

As we know

Pv=mrt

P, m and r are constants

So

V1/T1 = V2/T2

V1=V2xT1/T2

V1=900x350.15/293.15

Initial volume(v1) =1074.99ml

Apporx =1075ml
