Question 2: The perimeter of a rectangular swimming pool is 154 m. Its length is 2 m more than twice its breadth. What are the length and the breadth of the pool?

LET THE LENGTH BE 2X+2

ATQ

PERIMETER = 154
2(L+B) = 154

2( 2X + 2+ 2X) = 154
2( 3X+2) =154
6X+4=154
6X= 150

X= 150/6
X= 25

SO BREADTH = 25M
      LENGTH = 52 M

Lets assume that the breadth(b) is "x" metres
Then its length (l) is 2x + 2 metres


Perimeter = 154
2(l + b) = 154

2( 2x + x + 2 ) = 154

2( 3x+2) =154

6x+4=154

6x= 150


x= 150/6

x= 25

Therefore ,
Breadth = x = 25 m
Length = 2x + 2 = 52 m
