The path taken by the child is a sector of a circle

A quarter of a circle subtends 90 degrees at the centre

The total distance covered by the child

= r + \frac{90}{360} x 2x \frac{22}{7} r + r

= 2r + \frac{11}{7} r

= \frac{25}{7} r
