A circle with diameter 20cm is drawn somewhere on a rectangular piece of paper with length 40cm and width 30cm.This paper is kept horizontal on table top and a die ,very small in size,is dropped on the rectangular paper without seeing towards it. If the die falls and lands on the paper only, find the probability that it will fall and land: 1.inside the circle. 2.outside the circle

Radius of circle = 20/2 = 10 cm
Area of circle = 22/7 x 10² = 314.29 cm²

Area of rectangle = 40 x 30 = 1200 cm²

1. P(Falling inside circle) = Area of circle/Area of rectangle
                                           = 314.29/1200 = 0.262

2. Area outside the circle = 1200 - 314.29 = 885.71
         P(Falling outside circle) = 885.71/1200 = 0.738
