Explanation:

Moles of N2=28280=10moles

Assume, moles of CO2=x.

So, average molecular mass of mixture =10+x10×28+x×44 =36 (given)

So, x=10 moles

Therefore, weight of CO2=10×44=440 g

The mass of Nitrogen (N) present in a closed container\\ = 7 gm

The mole of Carbon dioxide (CO₂) present in a closed container \\ = 0.1

Molecular Mass of Carbon dioxide (CO₂)\\ =44 gm ( 12 + (16\times2) )

The mass of Carbon dioxide (CO₂) present in a closed container\\ = 0.1\times4=4.4 gm

The mass of lowest molecular weight hydrocarbon present in a closed container \\ =2.4 gm

So, the average molecular mass of the mixture \\ = 7 gm + 4.4 gm + 2.4 gm = 13.8 gm

Hence, the average molecular mass of the mixture \\ = 13.8 gm.
