The compound "X" is Ethanol. ( C2H5OH)

When it is heated with excess conc. sulphuric acid,

It forms Ethene (C2H4)

C2H5OH ____CONC.H2SO4_____  = C2H4 +H20

When  "x" reacts with Na it forms a colorless gas which is "z" Hydrogen

H2so4 acts as an dehydrating agent.
