A compound 'x' on losing partial crystallization of water gives compound 'y' which is used for making chalk and pottery artic articles. But when 'x' is strongly heated, it gives 'z' which is drying agent. Identify x, y and z and write chemical equation

x is hydrated Calcium carbonate
( CaCO3.2H2O)

on heating it becomes CaCO3 used to make chalk..that is y

( CaCO3+2H2O)

after that on heating it loses water molecule and forms CaO ( calcium oxide)

that is draying agent..therefore z..
