A fuse is a device that does not allow excessive current to flow through circuit. If the current exceeds the safe value, the heat produced in the fuse wire causes it to melt immediately and break the circuit but in this case, the cutrent must have exceeded its safe value but there was no fuse to break that circuit. Due to heat produced in computer, caused it to burn.
