A concave mirror produces four times magnitude of image of an object placed at 10 cm from it. Find the position of image formed.

We know that,

u = -10 cm (negative sign because object distance is always negative for mirrors and lenses alike)

magnification, m = 4

                       m = -v / u

                       Therefore, -v / u = 4

                                         -v = 4u

                                         -v = 4 * 10 = 40

                        Therefore, v = -40 cm.

Object distance= 10 cm
Position is beyond C( center of curvature)
and the image formed is real and inverted.
