a copper coin is kept in a solution of silver nitrate for sometime .what will happen to the coin and the colour of the solution

Cu is more active than Ag as it is above Ag in the activity series. So when Cu coin is added to AgNO3 solution, Cu will displace Ag from it and solution turns blue due to the formation of Cu(NO3)2 amd greyish ppt of Ag is formed on the coin.


Cu+Ag(NO)3=Cu(NO3)2 + Ag
