A copper wire has a length of 5m. After certain amount of heat supplied. the temperature changed from 10 C to 80 C. find the change in length. given coefficient of copper is 0.0024

strain = ∆l/l =  \alpha  ∆T

given,

L = 5m

∆T = (80-10)=70°C

so, ∆L =L × alpha ×∆T

∆L = 5× 0.0024× 70

∆L = 840/1000

∆L = 0.84m
