a cubical block of mass 2 kg with each side of 2 cm is lying on the ground calculate the pressure exerted by the block on the ground

length of each side = 2 cm = 0.02 m

Its area = 0.02 x 0.02 = 0.0004

Mass of the object = 2 kg. Acceleration due to gravity = 10 m/s sq.

Therefore ,its force on the ground = m x a = 2 kg x 10 m/s sq. = 20 N.

Pressure exerted by the block on the ground = force /area = 20 /0.0004 = 50000 pascal.

pressure = force/ area==Mg/area == 2×9.8/2×2==4.9pascal units
