if the starting point is considered to be A then it rides 40 kms towards east and then 20 kms towards north making a right angle and then rides 20 kms towards left (west) making half way towards making a rectangle so we have to find the distance from the current point to the starting point

——————l

20kms l 20kms

l

-————————l

40 kms

So considering an imaginary lines in the west to make a rectangle(E= Halfway)

A. E B

l————————l

2 l 20 km+20 km l 20kms

0 l =40kms l

Km Dl————————l. C

40kms

So 20 km(AD) + 20km(AE)

=40kms

Thus, the distance between the current point and the starting point is 40kms
