Given side of metal cube, a = 8 cm
Volume of cube = a3cubic units
= 83= 512 cu cm
We know that water will go up in the cylindrical tube which is equal to the volume of the cube.
Hence volume cylindrical tube = 512 cu cm
That is, πr2h = 512
(22/7) x 10 x 10 x h = 512
On simplification, we get h = 1.63 cm (nearly)
