  • Resistance of a conductor  

= (resistivity of the conductor) * (length of conductor) / (area of cross section)

  • Let area of cross section of conductor with length 2.5L be x.
  • According to the question,

R = ρL / A    ……..(i)

and,

0.5 R = ρ (2.5 L) / x      ……….(ii)    

  • Using equation (i) and (ii) , we get x = 5A
