Hi......
.Let x = daily wage
a1 = No. of days he is expected to work
a2 = No. of days he actually worked
Wages for the No. of days he was expected to work = 5750
So,
a1x = 5750 ----- (i)
Wages for the days he worked = 5000
So,
a2x = 5000 ----- (ii)
From (i)
x = 5750/a1
Substitute this in (ii)
a2(5750/a1) = 5000
a2/a1 = 20/23
From this we can see that he was supposed to work for 23 days but he worked for only 20 days.
Maximum possible daily wage = 5750/23 = Rs. 250
Or
= 5000/20 = Rs. 250
