Answer:

a)The amount heat required to convert unit mass of liquid into its vapour state without change in its temperature called is latent heat of vaporization. The latent heat of vaporization of water is 540 cal/g/°C.

b)The particles of liquid absorb energy from the surrounding to regain energy lost during evaporation. So thus when evaporation occurs it causes cooling. Evaporation causes cooling effect because the heat energy is absorbed by surrounding particles
