if the milkman mixed 2 litres of water for every 5 litres of milk so in 35 litres of milk, he will add 14 litres of water thus making a mixture of 49 litres. If he add more 14 litres of milk then the total water he added is 14 litres and total milk he added is 49 litres
So the ratio between milk and water is 49:14=7:
So C is the correct answer

7:2 is the ratio of milk and water in the mixture

Step-by-step explanation:

Let x be the multiple of the ratio

Volume of water in the mixture = 2x

Volume of milk in the ratio = 5x

According to the question,

2x + 5x = 49

7x = 49

x = 7

∵ Volume of water = 2x  = 2 * 7 = 14liters

Volume of milk in the mixture = 5 * 7 = 35liters

Again,

if 14liters pure milk added to the mixture

∵ now, the volume of milk in the mixture = 14 + 35 = 49liters

Volume of water in the mixture = 14liters

Ratio of milk to water = 49/14

= 7/2 0r 7:2
