Diameter of the sphere = 12 cm

radius of the sphere = 6 cm

H be the height of the cylindrical vessel and R, r be the radii of the cylinder and sphere respectively.

H = 32 / 9 cm

Volume of water raised in the cylindrical vessel = Volume of sphere

⇒ πR2H = (4/3)πr3

⇒ πR2(32/9) = (4/3)π63

⇒ R2 = (4/3)x (9/32) x 63

⇒ R = 9 cm

∴ diameter of cylindrical vessel = 2R =18 cm.

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Diameter of the sphere = 12 cm

radius of the sphere = 6 cm

H be the height of the cylindrical vessel and R, r be the radii of the cylinder and sphere respectively.

H = 32 / 9 cm

Volume of water raised in the cylindrical vessel = Volume of sphere

⇒ πR2H = (4/3)πr3

⇒ πR2(32/9) = (4/3)π63

⇒ R2 = (4/3)x (9/32) x 63

⇒ R = 9 cm

∴ diameter of cylindrical vessel = 2R =18 cm.
