Step-by-step explanation:

Painting of the wall has to be done excluding the area of the door.

Area of the door = L × b

= 3 × 2m² = 6m²

Area of wall including door = side × side = 10 m ×10 m = 100m²

Area of wall excluding door = (1006) m² = 92m²

Total labour charges = Rs 2.50 × 94

= Rs 235

Given:

The dimensions of the door and the wall.

To Find:

The total labor charge for painting.

Solution:

The shape of a door is a rectangle and the formula for the area of a rectangle is length multiplied by breath.

Area of the door = Length × Breadth

                             = 3 × 2

                             = 6m²

∴ The area of the rectangular door is 6m².

The area of the square can be found by using the formula side² and a wall is also in the shape of a square. So,

Area of the wall = side × side

                          = 10 × 10

                          = 100m²

∴ The area of the square wall = 100m²

Now, to find the area of the remaining part = Area of the wall - Area of the door.

                                            = 100 - 6

                                            = 94m²

The cost of painting 1m² of the wall = Rs.2.50 [given]

The cost of painting 94m² of the wall = Area to be painted × cost of painting 1m²

                                                              = Rs.2.50 × 94m²

                                                              = Rs.235

Therefore, the cost of painting the entire wall = Rs.235
