The correct answers are:

Explanation:

  • (i) Egg develops by the process of oogenesis in the female reproductive organ called the Ovaries. Each female has one pair of ovaries in the lower abdominal cavity.
  • (ii) The fertilisation of the sperm and the ovum takes place inside the Fallopian tube.
  • (iii) Fertilised egg gets implanted in the endometrial lining of the uterine wall.
  • (b) (i) The endometrial layer of the uterine lining thickens and forms a compact bed for receiving the zygote in case of pregnancy. It develops  blood vessels, which would provide nourishment to the developing zygote.
  • (b)(ii) If no zygote is formed the endometrial lining breaks and the blood along with the tissue lining is removed from the body through menstruation.
