A essay on children below 18 years should not drive vehicles
Answers
One reason a teenager should be 18 years old before receiving their license is because at the age 16 they're still in high school, they're immature and they're not responsible enough to be able to drive. Usually at this age a teenager has other things on their mind like friends, hanging out, partying, etc. You hear of so many car accidents involving teenagers ranging from 16-17 years old where an innocent person lost their life because of carelessness. I'm not saying that all 16 year olds are irresponsible because there are some that are responsible. It's just at this age they're basically still kids. If you hand a 16 year old the keys to the brand new Mustang you bought them for their 16th birthday, they tend to want to show off and think that they are inevitable to dangering or harming themselves or others. Then you have some teens that decide to go out partying and don't think twice about getting behind the wheel. Unfortanently what they don't realize is that alcohol impairs your driving and lives can be lost due to the carelessness of a teenager who chose to drink and drive. These views may sound sarcastic, but they're true among teenagers and even adults. I just think that 18 is a sufficient age for someone to receive their drivers license. At least by this age a teenager is moving into adulthood, more responsible, out of school and moving toward career choices.
Answer:
Teenagers should not be allowed to drive below the age of eighteen years in India. Driving any kind of vehicle comes with various risks. Risks that not only involves our own life but also the lives of other people are at high risk. Children below 18 years do not have the maturity to understand the responsibilities of a noble citizen.
Children below the age of 18 thinks that their every action must portray a good personality in the eyes of others'. So they do everything just to show off or simple to win something over. Many accidents are caused because they are unaware of driving risks and hazardous situations. A piece of evidence that shows that teenagers need driving experience appears in the following quote, “Teens are more likely than older drivers to underestimate dangerous situations or not be able to recognize hazardous situations”. They need to understand that driving a vehicle is not child's play. They need to understand that every action they take impacts other people's lives too. First they need to be made aware of all the rules and regulations they should follow while driving, then they should practice driving by getting into a driving school or taking lessons from someone close. Once they are fully prepared, then only they must be allowed to drive on the road.
So, children need to be taught that driving on the road is not a game that is played to win a competition. If they do so then they will only increase the number of car crashes and road accidents. They must be taught properly about all risks involved.
