Given : A factory manufactures cylindrical storage tanks made of steel who's top and bottom are closed in batches. The curved surface area and the height of each tank is 22000 cm sq and 100 cm respectively

each batch contains a dozen of storage tanks and cost of steel sheets used in manufacturing is ₹18 per square centimetre

To Find :  how much would it cost to manufacture a batch

Solution:

CSA = 2πrh

CSA =  22000 cm²

h = 100 cm

π = 22/7

=> 2 (22/7)*r * 100 = 22000

=> r = 35  cm

Area on both sides = 2 (πr²)

= 2 (22/7) 35²

= 7700 cm²

Total Area = 22000  + 7700  = 29700 cm²

each batch contains a dozen of storage tanks

Total Area = 12 *  29700

Cost 18 Rs/cm²  cm²

Cost to manufacture a batch = 18 * 12 * 29700

= 64,15,200  Rs
