a floor is 40 m long and 15 m broad. it is covered with tiles, each measuring 60 cm by 50 cm. find the number of tiles required to cover the floor

Dimensions of the tile=60cm*50cm=0.6m*0.5m
No. of tiles required
=Area of floor/Area of 1tile
= 40*15/0.6*0.5
= 600*100/6*5
= 2000
Hence, 2000 tiles are required.
