♠ Refer the attachment for the figure.
♠ Given -
• First side of the triangular design, a = 9 cm
• Second side of the triangular design, b = 28 cm
• Third side of the triangular design, c = 35 cm.
♠ Then,
• Perimeter (p) of the triangular design,
= a + b + c
= 9 + 28 + 35
= 72 cm
• And, semi perimeter (s) of the triangular design,
= p/2
= 72/2
= 36 cm
♠ Then, by Heron's formula, area of the triangular design,
= √[s (s - a)(s - b)(s - c)]
= √[36 (36 - 9) (36 - 28) (36 - 35)]
= √(36 × 27 × 8 × 1)
= √7776
= 88.2 cm² (approx)
♠ Given that there are 16 such designs.
→→→ Area of all the designs,
= 16 × 88.2
= 1411.2 cm²
♠ Given that cost of polishing 1 cm² is 50 paise = 0.5 Rs.
→→→ Cost of polishing 1411.2 cm²,
= 1411.2 × 0.5
= 705.6 Rs.
•°• Cost of polishing the tiles = 705.6 Rs. (approx)
