Answer:

The impulse = - 7.39509 Kgm/s

The impulse is negative since the impulse force acts in the opposite direction.

Explanation:

The formula for getting impulse is given by :

Impulse = Change in momentum

Change in momentum = final momentum - initial momentum

Momentum = mass × velocity

Initial momentum = (200/1000) × 20

= 4

V = - 20 m/s since it is in the opposite direction.

Final momentum = 0.2 × - 20Sin90

= 0.2 × - 20 × 0.9877 = - 3.9508

Change in momentum = - 3.9508 - 4 = - 7.39508

Since impulse equals to change in momentum the impulse is therefore:

= - 7.39509 kgm/s
