The Force acted on the football is 5N

GIVEN

Linear momentum of football = 3kg/s⁻¹

Time taken = 0.6 second

TO FIND

Force acted on the ball

SOLUTION

We can simply solve the above problem as follows-

According to second law of motion force is equal to the rate of change of linear momentum.

F =  \frac{dp}{dt}

Where,

F = force exerted on the body

dp = change in linear momentum.

Putting the values in the above equation we get ,

F =  \frac{3}{0.6}

= 5N

Hence, The Force acted on the football is 5N
