A Force F, = 20 N making an angle 0, = 30° with positive x-axis and Force F, = 30 N
making an angle e, = 150° with positive x-axis, acts at a point, calculate the
resultant force.
(FR = 26.46 N, 02 = 109.11°)

Answer:

That’s easier to calculate on a diagram. Draw the F1 in any scale you like and at 30 deg to an horizontal line (0 deg on the right side). Then from the end (point) of the F1 arrow, draw another horizontal line, and draw the F2 arrow starting from that point and at 150 deg to the horizontal line. Finally connect the start of the F1 arrow with the end of F2 arrow and you have the resultant force (as an arrow) in scale length and in angle to 0 deg.
