A force is applied on a body of mass 20 kg moving with a velocity of 40 ms-1. the body attains a velocity of 50 ms-1 in 2 seconds. calculate the work done by the body.

m1= initial momentum
m2=final momentum
m1=20×40=800kgm/s
m2=20×50=1000kgm/s
F=(m2-m1)/2=100N
Let
a=acceleration=100/20=5m/s^2
now
s=displacement=ut+1/2at^2=
40×2+0.5×5×4=90m
W=F×s=9000J
