a force of 100N is acting on two bodies X and Y and producing the acceleration of 2m/s2 and 4m/s2 respectively. calculate the acceleration produced when same force acting if both bodies are tied together.

let the mass of each body be m1 and m2
then A/Q
f1= m1a1=100N
2m1=100N
m1=100/2kg=50kg
f2=100N=m2a2
m2=100/4kg=25kg
when, m1 and m2 are tied together
m1+m2=(50+25)kg=75kg
f3=f2=f1=100N
let the acceleration produce be a3
then, f=ma=75×a3=100N=4/3m/s^2

kaustubh123aa: why 2m1 = 100N
Mausam11: becoz acceleration=2m/s^2 and f=ma
Mausam11: and a=2 hence f=2m1
kaustubh123aa: thnx
Mausam11: wlcm
