Given

Force (F) = 20 N

Displacement (s) = 1 m

Angle between force and displacement θ = 60°

★ Work (W) = Fs cos θ

= 20 × 1 × cos 60°

= 20 × 1 × ½

= 10 J

Question

A force of 20 N displays a body through a distance of 1 m at an angle of 60° from its own direction. Calculate the amount of work done.

Answer

Work done = F*cos tetha*distance

cos 60= 0.5

Force= 20N

Distance= 1m

Work done= 20*0.5*1

=20*5/10*1

=10*1

=10

Therefore the work done=10J
