Heya !!!!

Let the numerator of fraction be X.

Then denominator of fraction = X + 5

Fraction = Numerator/Denominator = X/X+5

5 is subtracted from the numerator of fraction then the new numerator = (X-5) and 3 is subtracted from it's denominator then the new denominator = (X+5-3) = (X+2)

Fraction = Numerator/Denominator = X-5/X+2

According to question,

X -5/ X + 2 = 1/2

2(X-5) = 1(X+2)

2X - 10 = X + 2

2X - X = 2 + 10

X = 12

Numerator = X = 12

and,

Denominator = X+5 = ( 12 + 5) = 17

Therefore,

Fraction = Numerator/Denominator = 12/17

HOPE IT WILL HELP YOU....... :-)

Let,

numerator of original fraction = x
denominator of original fraction = x + 5

fraction = x/(x + 5)

===========================

According to the question,

(x -  5)/(x +  5 - 3) = 1/2

(x - 5 )/(x + 2) = 1/2

2(x - 5) = x + 2

2x  - 10  = x  + 2

2x -x =  2 + 10

x = 12

Now,

Fraction = x/(x + 5)=  (12)/(12 + 5) = 12/17

Original fraction = 12/17

i hope this will help you
