let the fraction be x/y.

Then, according to question 3x/(y-3) =3

solving this we get x=y-3

y= 3+x .........(i)

another equation is (x+8)/2y =13/16

so 8(x+8) =13y

put (i) we get 8x + 64 = 13(3+x)

8x + 64 = 39 + 13 x

64 - 39 = 13x - 8x

25 = 5x. x=5

y=x+3 = 8

so the fraction is x/y = 5/8
