A fruit seller had some apples , he sells 40% of the apples and still has 420 apples remaining.originally he had?

40% sold, hence remaining = 60%

60%== 420 apples
10%==70 apples     [dividing LHS & RHS by '6']
100%==700 apples

Hence he originally had 700 apples

he sells 40% of Apple's
he doesn't sell 60% of Apple's
which is equal to 420
60/100 * x = 420
x = 420 *100/60
= 700
total apples 700
