Step-by-step explanation:

Area of original garden = 80 x 70 = 5600m^2

After path is added around rectangle, new length = 80 + 2 x 5 = 90 m

New breadth = 70 + 2 x 5 = 80 m

Area of rectangle with path = 90 × 80 = 7200 m^2

So, Area of path = Area of rectangle with path − Area of rectangle without path

Area of path = 7200 − 5600 = 1600m^2

We know,

1 m^2 = 0.0001 hectare

So,

5600 m^2 = 5600 × 0.0001 = 0.56 hectare

Hence area of ground = 5600 m^2 =0.56 hectares
