A glass container is sealed with a gas at 0.800 atm pressure and at 25°C. The glass container sustain pressure of 2 atm. Calculate the temperature to which gas can be heated before bursting the container.

Using Gay-Lussac's Law -

P1 / P2 = T1 / T2

0.8 / 2 = 298 / T2

T2 = 298 × 2 / 0.8

T2 = 745 K

T2 = 472 ℃

Therefore, the given gas can be heated upto 472 ℃ before bursting the container.
