Gases become more difficult to liquefy as the temperature increases becausethe kinetic energies of the particles that make up the gas also increase. The critical temperature of a substance is the temperature at and above which vapor of the substance cannot be liquefied, no matter how much pressure is applied.

Critical pressure:

It is the pressure required to liquify a gas at the critical temperature.

Critical volume:

It is the volume of 1 mole of gas at critical temperature and pressure.

Critical temperature:

It is the temperature above which a gas be liquify.
