The process of charging a body, is known as electrification. Here the process is electrification by friction.
When we rub glass rod with silk cloth, then glass rod acquire positive charge and silk cloth acquire negative charge of equal amount. Because electrons are transferred from glass rod to silk cloth, so amount of charge on silk cloth is q=-3.2x10-17C, and it will be negative in nature.
