How can we differentiate between ethylamine and aniline?

See by diazotisation test we can easily identify, in case of aniline, by reaction with NANO2/HCL, THEN USING RESORCINOL, it will form azo dye, of Orange color

In case of ethyl amine, it forms alcohol, ethyl alcohol by treating Nano2/HCL.

Ethylamine :

1) Reaction with nitrous acid gives

ethyl alcohol.

2) It doesn't form precipitate with

bromine water.

Aniline :

1) Reaction with nitrous acid gives

diazonium salt.

2) Treatment with bromine water,

decolourisation of bromine takes

place with the formation of

white precipitate.
