A group of four students was given different parts of four varieties of plants to grow:

i. Stems of raspberries
ii. Roots of potatoes
iii. Stems of rose plants
iv. Bulbs of onion

After growing all the plants, students found that all of them were identical to their parent plants.

Which statement explains this?
A) Gametes were not involved in the reproductive methods.
B) The plant parts were genetically identical to the parent plants.
C) Offspring may look much like the parent plant, although genetically different.
D) The students all used methods of asexual reproduction to produce new plants.
